Bottler Profile: Meet Dori Rotert

Friday, December 21st, 2007

TR bottler Dori RotertDori is a jack of all trades at Templeton Rye. She can be found bottling, labeling, boxing, and stacking the pallet. She “helps where ever she is needed.”

She plays the same role at the bowling alley in Manning as a cook, a waitress and bartender, as well as working at Lori’s Flowers in Manning. She couldn’t tell us her favorite color and responded “I work with flowers, remember.” Dori’s hobbies include bowling, crafting, reading short stories, and playing games with her family.

Dori lists her sister Dawn as her hero. She says Dawn is a very brave and strong person who is struggling with cancer for seven years while raising four children. Dori says that Dawn taught her to live each day to the fullest and enjoy life. She inspires her to try things she has never done before. Dori hopes that she is her sister’s “rock” as much as Dawn is hers.

Other fun things to know about Dori include:
Birthday: March 21st
Person she would like to have dinner with: Princess Diana
Favorite food: Prime Rib (rare) with lobster.
Favorite way to drink Templeton Rye: On the rocks with Diet Mountain Dew

Sharing Templeton Rye stories on YouTube

Friday, December 21st, 2007

One of our goals at Templeton Rye is to document all the classic TR stories, as told by the people who lived them. We’re now proudly sharing these videos on YouTube. Please visit our channel at YouTube.com/templetonryewhiskey.

Above is a story from Wilfred “Bud” Irlmeier. His granddaughter, Tracy Olberding, recently wrote to us with the following note:

My Grandpa Bud (Wilfred Irlmeier) passed away on November 25, 2007; he was born in Templeton and was married to my Grandma Toni for 62 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed greatly by all of us. We had many wonderful family memories including several about Templeton and Templeton Rye.

Tasting notes from the North American Rye Drinkers Association

Friday, December 21st, 2007

On December 8, 2007, the North American Rye Drinkers Association (NARDA) held their annual holiday celebration dinner at M. T. Barrel’s in West Dundee, IL, where the group sampled Templeton Rye. Below is the feedback from the group regarding TR:

Templeton Rye is a very, very smooth rye whiskey. The flavor is excellent for those who enjoy their rye straight-up or on the rocks, as well as for those who enjoy their rye mixed with water or other types of mix. TR has a very clean, refreshing taste, and is definitely a favorite of the NARDA Group!! It certainly lives up to its moniker “The Good Stuff.” NARDA would recommend TR to anyone who enjoys rye whiskey, as well as to recommend it to those who have never tried rye.

Thanks for sampling Templeton Rye, NARDA!
