Where’s The Good Stuff?

We’ve received a few inquiries about our inventory in response to many of you having a hard time tracking down a bottle of The Good Stuff in Iowa, so we thought we’d fill you in on the details. As for our inventory, here’s the scoop: Our product takes over four years to make, so we only have available for sale what we made four-plus years ago. We’re still a small company and were a very small company back then, which is why we’re only currently selling in two states (Iowa and Illinois).

Some of you may remember that we sold our first year’s worth of product in three-and-a-half months, and then we were totally out of product for over eight months. Rather than finding ourselves in that position again, we’ve made a strategic decision to do a monthly allocation. We put together our allocation plan for Iowa based on our previous year’s experience, but yes — it’s tight, as we simply do not have a lot of whiskey.

April – 400
May – 500
June – 400
July – 500
August – 400
September – 400
October – 1,200
November – 1,200
December – 600

We also wanted to take a moment to thank all of our fans out there. We truly appreciate all your support (and patience)! If you have further questions or comments about our allocation strategy, please leave a comment below or reach out to us via email.

Cheers,

Thank you for the transparency. When I noticed in March that a local stores had sold out I asked at three locations and assumed that the monthly allocation was the plan, but no one could tell me and some even misinformed me that you were out of stock completely!

Now I can lift my in-house rationing of my current supply and enjoy the Good Stuff with ease.

    Sigh.

I know this may not be a popular comment, but I really like the limited availability. Making people work a little to find a bottle adds to the brand in my opinion. Keep up the good work.

A couple of my salespeople and I each received a bottle of Templton Rye last fall as a gift from a customer during a pheasant hunting trip in SD. WOW! Talk about “Good Stuff”!

Several of us attended the annual Sturgis Motorcycle rally this year and one evening when we returned from our long daily ride in the Black hills decided it was a good time to sit around the campfire with the Templeton. Sure made for a great evening of conversation and relaxation! Man this stuff is good!

Maybe we could get it at select stores that are Iowa based on a regular basis instead of discount big boxes like Costco. I like to support local and that’s one of the reason I support your product but when you have to get a membership to a national chain store to buy your product it seems to take away from the value of it al.

I discovered Templeton Rye when I saaw the van at the Iowa State Fair this year. I live in Illinois but come back to Iowa where i grew up for the Fair each year. I was not able to find Templeton Rye in Des Moines, but I have had good luck finding it in Illinois. Family Liquor in East Dubuque (Highway 20 across the river) had a good supply last time we stopped on our way to Iowa. Also Everett’s Liquor in South Beloit, Illinois carries it. So, I can get it without driving all the way into Iowa.

I discovered Templeton Rye after reading about it in the Chicago Tribune. I went to Family Beer in East Dubuque IL they were out (not a drop in the store) and very rude to boot! I went up the HWY to Van’s Liquor Store and was pleased to find loads of Templeton! Price was great and so was the service, Van’s is now my only place for Templeton Rye!
