Do you know that he Lakers lost all their NBA closing matches in the1960s.They received their first title in Los Angeles in 1972, their 6th since their inception in 1946. It was in the 80's that the Lakers reputation soared once they gained 5 championships with giants like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and James Worthy playing under the guidance of coach Pat Riley.

I wanted to surprise my husband with a bottle of Templeton Rye for Christmas but had to put my name on a wait list at all the local Hy-Vee stores in the Quad Cities since nothing was immediately available. Fortunately, since we live on the IA/IL border, I was able to locate several bottles in IL, but only purchased ONE since I didn't want to be greedy! Then a few days before Christmas, my husband got a message that his Templeton Rye was in!! I was not happy that my surprise was foiled, but he made the purchase, so now we have extra to share!

With 2 kids at ISU and paying out of state tuition, I need a very smooth rye...works well when I'm paying the bills...I've been drinking Old Overholt since my days at Ohio State, so when the bartender suggested Templeton Rye at the Gateway Hotel, I went for it...helps me get thru those Minnesota winters! I think 2 fingers of that rye every night will keep me alive and prevent my wife from collecting on those insurance policies!

We do have some bbq sauce left that we sell in a 200 ml version of our bottle for $10. You can call the distillery at 712-669-8793 and order some from Kevin.

I grew up in the town of Templeton, Iowa. My father and mother, Wayne and Lorene Read, had the locker plant on the corner across from the grocery store. My fondest memories of childhood are in Templeton. If I wasn't at home, I was out on the farm of Gin and Clipper Knobbee. I had heard of Templeton Rye, but until now didn't know it was available retail. I am awaiting a bottle of the "good stuff" to be shipped from my mother in Minnesota. Brings back a lot of good memories seeing the photos of the staff...Merlyn, Pat, and Gin. Keep up the good work and can't wait to get my first taste of the infamous Templeton Rye.
