It All Started Here

Welcome to the heart of Templeton Rye. Here The Good Stuff is more than a whiskey, it’s a strong community spirit. We are proud of our town and its rich history. We would not be where we are today without the people and spirit of Templeton, Iowa.

Our Town

The town of Templeton has a rich history with the whiskey that bears its name. The people, the places and the community hold the true spirit of The Good Stuff brand. That’s why, in 2005, the Templeton team partnered with a local area development group to bring the brand home, building a new facility in town. With a solid distillation partner already in place, the team began finishing, creating and bottling innovative products in the Templeton facility.

We have spearheaded the Templeton Archive Project — a campaign to document the history of Templeton Rye by interviewing older residents in the Templeton area, capturing their stories and preserving their unique memories of Templeton Rye, the Prohibition era and the role it played in this small town.

Our Community

Building a brand from scratch is a gradual process. Thanks to hard work and our friends in Templeton, we’ve made great progress. Our company has a strong presence in the Templeton community, and we’re committed to maintaining that presence as we grow.

As the largest employer in Templeton, we’re invested in our community. We’ve put more than $1 million into the local economy since opening our doors. We also donate to community projects, like our contribution of $250,000 to the Templeton Community Center project, which created a premier $1.4 million recreational facility in the heart of town. Looking out for our neighbors is just part of the fabric of Templeton Rye.

Our People

The people of Templeton are what make the history of Templeton Rye so rich. Without the people willing to share their stories and unique experiences, The Good Stuff may have remained only a memory in the past.
